I know I don't look like your typical mortgage broker
The tattoos tend to throw people off. And that’s okay! The people who look past them are usually the ones I work best with. What they find is someone who tells them the truth, fights for them, and stays in their corner long after closing day.
Before I became a mortgage broker in Alberta, I was an Advanced Care Paramedic. I spent years showing up for people in crisis, making fast decisions under pressure, and helping them feel less afraid when everything felt uncertain. The hardest part of that work was the handoff. You’d do everything right, transfer care at the hospital, and then walk away not knowing what happened next.
Mortgage brokering changed that.
Here, I don’t walk away. I stay in the story. I get to watch people move into their first home, get back on their feet after a separation, and build something that lasts. I finally get to see how the story ends. That's why I do this.
I don’t treat mortgages like transactions because they are so much more than that. It means doing what's right for you, always. You’ll always know where things stand, even if there's nothing new to report. Silence creates uncertainty, and you should never have to worry about that.
When your mortgage closes, I don’t disappear. I stay in touch with annual reviews and market updates, and if I ever spot a way to save you money. I'll tell you.
Who I work with
I don't try to be everything to everyone. I focus on three things and I do them exceptionally well:
- Buying a home, whether it's your first or your next.
- Refinancing, whether you're consolidating debt, accessing equity, or getting ahead of your renewal.
- Spousal buyouts, when a separation or divorce means one of you is keeping the home.
I work especially well with people who feel overwhelmed or aren't sure of their next step.
If your application has a few bumps, like self-employed income or credit challenges, that's where I do some of my best work. I'll explain everything in plain language and build a plan around your real life, not just what's on paper.

What does a mortgage broker actually do?
A mortgage broker works for you, not the bank. Instead of one lender's products, I shop a wide range of lenders to find the right fit. I handle the research, the paperwork, the lender conversations, and the strategy. You get real options, and someone who explains what each one actually means for you.
How do I choose the right mortgage broker?
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Look for someone who communicates clearly, gives you honest answers, and treats you like you matter. Ask how they'll keep you updated throughout the process and whether they'll still be available after you close.
Is it better to use a mortgage broker or go directly to my bank?
A bank can only offer you their own products. I shop a whole range of lenders for you, which usually means a better rate or better terms. In most cases, you don't pay me directly because the lender covers my fees. The real advantage is having someone in your corner who advocates for you.
Do you work with first-time homebuyers in Alberta?
Yes, and it's some of my favourite work. Buying your first home is one of the biggest financial decisions you'll ever make and it can feel completely overwhelming. I'll walk you through every step and explain how it all works, so you feel confident and informed, never pressured, before you sign anything.
When I'm not working
You'll find me outside as much as possible. I was born and raised in Edmonton and I have deep roots here, which means I genuinely care about this city and the people building their lives in it.
I have two horses, Blackjack and Miley, and a chihuahua named Ripley who gets very serious about his meals. Animals have always been a big part of my life and there is something about them that keeps everything in perspective.
Family means everything to me. I was raised by people who worked hard, and that's just how I'm wired. I think that's part of why this work fits me so well. When someone is buying a home, they're not just signing paperwork. They're doing something for their family, their future, the people they love. I understand that on a deeply personal level.
